Do you suspect that the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) engineers are turning a blind eye to illegal constructions in your locality? Perhaps, BMP Commissioner K Jairaj has zeroed in on a solution.

The legal department of the BMP is organising an ‘Enforcement clinic’ on December 23 (at IPP, Malleswaram), to hand over the charge of regulating unauthorised constructions along the main thoroughfares like Church Street, Jayamahal Road, St Mark’s Road, Lavelle Road, among others.

“In many cases, the courts issue a stay order on the regulation notices served by the BMP officials directing the parties to maintain status quo. While, the BMP attracts public criticism for lack of supervision and enforcement. The clinic will facilitate active participation of assistant executive engineers, executive engineers and field engineers in regulating illegal constructions,” said the commissioner.
