BMTC launches special services

BMTC launches special services

These include services connecting malls, hospitals, and those for women and children

Bangalore: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced Mall Special buses connecting the city centre with high-profile shopping centres.

The Mall Special service has eight trips every day by a Pushpak bus from Shivajinagar, connecting Commercial Street, MG Road, Brigade Road, Bangalore Central Mall; Garuda Mall; Lifestyle multi-brand store; Forum Mall; Big Bazaar stores in Koramangala and Shantinagar; and Residency Road.

There is also a Hospital Special service operating from Kempegowda Bus Station with mini-buses connecting Wockhardt; Jain Hospital; Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital; Manipal Hospital; Vydehi Hospital; and Satya Sai Multi speciality Hospital. Another service goes to St. Martha's; Mallya; NIMHANS; Kidwai; St. John's; Narayana Hrudayalaya; Minto; Vanivilas; Victoria; KIMS; Bangalore Hospital; Nature Cure Hospital; Sagar Apollo and; Jayadeva Cardiology Hospital.

Buses for women and children are being operated from 7.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on important routes. Since the number of commuters is low, BMTC has requested more women commuters to use them.
