BMP engineer pulled up for substandard work

BANGALORE: Commissioner of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike K. Jairaj took an Executive Engineer to task for slipshod asphalting work on at 44th Cross of Rajajinagar 3rd Main.

Inspecting the work on Tuesday, Mr. Jairaj found that the asphalting and roller works were not being done properly.

He ordered the Executive Engineer to complete the asphalting work in a qualitative manner.

Earlier Mr. Jairaj visited Idgah Maidan in Chamarajpet along with Wakfs Minister Zameer Ahmed. The Commissioner directed the BMP officials to build a model toilet adjacent to the Maidan, renovate BMP's ward office and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the area.

He inspected the progress of civil works being done in 130 roads in Chamarajpet. In his visit to Rajajinagar, he asked the Horticulture Department officers to restart the fountain at Dharmanaidu Park. He visited the RTO complex and inspected the construction of the new BMP's office.

Cleanliness

The BMP Health Officers inspected Vijayanagar Darshini on Magadi Road and found the hotel not maintaining cleanliness.

The officers imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000. Similarly, a fine of Rs. 10,500 each was imposed on Keertisagar, Hotel Diplomat, SLV Refreshments, Sri Vinod and Ramegowda Military Hotel, running on Kanakapura Main Road.

Hoardings

The Executive Engineer (Bharatinagar) removed unauthorised hoardings, banners, bunting and other encroachments on the pavements of Old Madras Road and C.M.H. Road.
