BMRCL considers awareness campaigns

BANGALORE: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is considering taking up educational campaigns to educate people about the actual plans and developments of the Metro Rail project.

This is in view of fears among the residents on CMH Road that their shops and houses would be acquired for the project, resulting in sale of land at throwaway prices. BMRCL officials said that some residents who had approached them were unaware that their land would not be acquired.

Speaking to this website’s newspaper, BMRCL Managing Director V Madhu said that some residents seemed to have been misinformed about the land marked for acquisition.

“Some people have incorrect information. Even those who have not been served notices are panicking. We are thinking about launching educational campaigns to give out facts and the right information,” he said.

The campaign plan will be formulated in the next ten days and could include handing out pamphlets.
