When work was smooth for some

When work was smooth for some

“The roads are looking so beautiful with no traffic. I am riding with my friend, I am able to inspect every pothole. This is the best day for inspections!” - that was a BMP chief engineer at forenoon, on Wednesday sounding all gung-ho about the bundh and how he was going about his work.

As the City brought the shutters down and the staff of most establishments trouped in discretely through back doors and service lifts to clock in whatever be the work for the day, the civic agencies seemed to be having their own game up their sleeves.

The traffic cops were seen doing chores like painting zebra crossings and washing the barricades. “Maintenance works like plugging leakages is easily attended to today,” noted an engineer of the BWSSB.
