BANGALORE: Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) Commissioner K Jairaj on Saturday held a meeting with officials of RTI cell and activist Y G Muralidharan at the head office.

He told the officials to go through the applications and forward them to the public information officer concerned instead of joint commissioners. He asked the RTI cell to always verify with the departments if the information sought was available.

The Commissioner also asked the RTI cell to set up an Info Bank comprising information provided to applications in the past, so that repetitive queries are addressed fast.

Jairaj also sought the cooperation of Muralidharan in organising a workshop to increase awareness among the civic staff.
