BANGALORE: Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) is taking action against city hotels that are violating cleanliness and construction norms.

The BMP inspected city hotels and have pinned down those who have not abided by the rule.

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike has slapped a fine of Rs 5,500 on the hotels which were not maintained well and built on foot path.

The hotels were built without the permission of the corporation.

Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Commissioner K Jairaj said: “Footpaths are for general public and building hotels on the path would disturb pedestrians. Hotels also have to maintain cleanliness.”
