Airport prepared for bundh
Deccan Herald

Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials said on Tuesday that the HAL Airport was geared up with contingency plans for Wednesday’s Karnataka bundh.

Airport Director B R Sena said the bundh would not hamper the flights or the functioning of the airport, but added that mobility of passengers to and from the airport was beyond AAI’s purview. “The pre-paid taxi counters at the airport will function. We can’t assure more from our side,” he said.

Airline officials maintained that the bundh call had not led to substantial number of cancellations. Sources in domestic carrier Indian said there had not been any “remarkable” number of ticket cancellations in the wake of the bundh call. “Till late afternoon (on Tuesday), we haven’t had many cancellations,” a senior official said. He, however, added that passengers could go in for last minute cancellations after seeing the possible impact of the bundh.

An Air Deccan official said there had been no change in the pattern of reservation of tickets on Wednesday’s flights to and from Bangalore.
