BBa an ngga allo orree:: With a bandh being declared in the State against the Centre’s ‘attitude’ on the border row, the corporate world has geared itself for the same.
No formals, no laptops and Karnataka flags fluttering on the pick-up and drop vehicles to save themselves from getting stoned.
Soon after the decision on the bandh was made public, the HR departments of various MNCs charted out a comprehensive plan to tackle the bandh.
Some firms decided to have skeletal staff, but without women employees. Half of these staff would be accommodated in the service quarters located close to the office. The other employees who have to work but can’t make it to the office have been asked to work from home via the Internet.
The companies have set up a team of employees to monitor bandh activities.
Employees coming to the office as part of the skeletal staff will keep in touch with the supervisory team to get updated on bandh situation.
The pick-up and drop vehicles have been asked to remain off track. However, they can operate in the early shift to pick up skeletal staff employees.
The vehicles have been asked to remove the company logo and carry a Karnataka flag. The driver will be issued a special identity card.
Some companies have also asked employees to book a room at the nearest hotel to the office. The company will bear the expenses.
Some firms have decidedto accomodate employees within office premises. The other MNCs have declared a holiday as they cannot afford to provide transportation.
