With the likely introduction of the single window scheme for issue of khatas this month end, the BMP is seeking to limit the interface between the official and the khata seeker to the bare minimum.
The Suvarna Khata scheme — as the single window scheme is named, is billed to ensure that depending on the category of the applicant, the khata is given to him or her on day 7 or day 30 from the date of application.
The system is being streamlined such that BMP will collect DDs against all necessary payments receiving the application itself. Officials failing to keep the date will face action.
BMP has re-designed the application and details are printed on the backside. The official will verify the documents and issue acknowledgement receipt.
As his/her case may be, the following are the payments that the applicant will be called to make: For khata certificate - Rs 25, for khata extract - Rs 100, improvement charges - Rs 100 per sq yard in old BMP areas and Rs 50 per sq yard in new BMP areas, khata transfer fee at the rate of two per cent on the value of stamp duty of the Sale Deed.
BMP sources on Sunday said that the Suvarna Khata scheme will be launched by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on September 30.
The single window cells will be opened one each across the 30 revenue divisions of the BMP; staff training in this regard has been completed, sources said.
