The ‘Health City’ is going to get yet another super-specialty hospital shortly. The Wockhardt Hospitals Group is all set to inaugurate its second hospital in the City - Wockhardt Hospital on Bannerghatta Road, by August-end.

Moving beyond its core strength - that of being a cardiology hospital - this new hospital will have other specialties as well, including a dedicated floor for women’s healthcare.

Built over an area of four lakh sq ft, the Rs 170-crore hospital offers 400 beds across seven floors. It boasts of a preventive healthcare department, physiotherapy section, dialysis clinic, birthing suites, neo-natal intensive care, computerised radiology unit, minimal access programmes, apart from its cardiac and neurology departments. The hospital will have 80 full-time consultants across all disciplines.

“Our new areas of thrust will be paediatric cardiology and intervention pulmonology for complicated lung ailments. We are also focussing on women, who are now making their own choices as far as their healthcare is concerned,” Vishal Bali, Chief Executive Officer, Wockhardt Hospitals, said.

'health city'?ouch!that hurt!Health city tag for 'India's tech capital' without a CT scanner(FYI invented in 1972)in any of its state run hospital?SHAME!
