BANGALORE: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Monday assured timely completion of five townships on the outskirts of the city along with 734 km of roads including inner core ring road. He said that these ambitious projects would be completed in time without expensive time overruns.

The CM was speaking here after inaugurating an underpass at Jayadeva circle built by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA). The underpass is part of the grade separator project taken up by BDA three years ago and the event marks the completion of all components of the project which would decongest Bannerghatta road and ring road near Jayadeva circle.

Kumaraswamy said that the farmers whose land would be acquired for the infrastructure projects would be compensated adequately. He said that BMP Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) and BDA had taken up many measures to address the development issues of the city and many of the projects taken up by these agencies are seeing the light of the day under the present government.

The CM said that BMP had taken up widening of 90 roads in the city and by December work on 45 roads would be completed. He said that Rs40 crore had been released to BMP for the works.

He said that BDA would repair roads in Puttenhalli area so that last year’s monsoon troubles would not relapse. Kumaraswamy further warned the developers of strict action on encroachments on Raja Kaluves in the city.

Deputy Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Health Minister R Ashok, Mayor Mumtaz Begum, BMP Commissioner K Jairaj and BDA Commissioner MK Shankarlinge Gowda were present.
