Nearly 700 persons were detained till Saturday evening in connection with the arson, looting and rioting during Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar’s funeral.

Police had taken into custory 538 persons till Friday. Police are on the look out for rowdy sheeters and trouble makers.

Additional Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Narayan Gowda said on Saurday night till now around 700 culprits had been picked up and 75 cases booked. Most of the arrests were from the Central range, he added.

Meanwhile, most of the senior officers brushed aside the allegations of political hand in the violence. They were hoping the truth would come out in the inquiry.

On Saturday evening, top personalities from film industry Gangaraj, Sa Ra Govindu and Sundar Raj held a marathon meeting with Bangalore City Police Commissioner Ajai Kumar Singh.
