Bangalore: E ven as opposition to the proposed M etro Rail passing through CMH Road refuses to die down, mor e protests against the project have begun surfacing from other parts of the City .

N o w , r esidents and traders of Mahakavi K uvempu (MKK) Road in Rajajinagar have launched a protest against the Metro Rail passing through their neighbourhood. More than 100 protestors, under the banner , ’MKK Road Residents and T raders Association’, met Chief Minister H D K umaraswamy recently and submitted a memorandum urging him to save MKK R oad and shelve the project. Anand, pr esident of the association, says: "W e met the chief minister and expr essed our opposition to the Metro Rail passing through MKK R oad. Our business and property will be affected if the project continues in its present form." He said though the Centre it yet to to give its final approval to the project, the KIADB and the BMRC have already started issuing notices to property owners.

"The CM assured us that he would reexamine the Metro Rail routes. W e hope the government will rethink on the project," he added.
