New Delhi: With the Group of Ministers (GoM) giving the go-ahead for the Bangalore metro rail, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Saturday said an expert committee would be set up soon to prepare a report for the implementation of the project.

A committee will be constituted to look into technical aspects, including where the facility should be overhead and underground, and the approximate investment to be made, he said here.

The technical committee will look into whether monorail would be suitable for Bangalore. It would study improvements to the transport system to make it compatible with the metro rail system.

He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has promised to attend the ceremony for laying the foundation stone for the Rs. 23,000-crore petrochemical project in the State soon after the Parliament session. — PTI
