CM woos industry sector, says don’t leave State

BANGALORE: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy made one more attempt to assuage the ruffled feelings of Industry.
During his interaction with the members of the Confederation of Indian Industry, he said his Government was committed to create an investor-friendly atmosphere by rooting out corruption besides developing infrastructure.
Excerpts from the interaction
On the Presidents’ 11 charters:
“The Government is committed to development of the State. I have instructed the officers to prepare a detailed plan of action to implement the 11 charters given by the President in the next three months.
“We will not go back on our word and will not compromise on development issues.”
Decongesting city in 15 months:
“I have already given 10 points to the traffic and transport department to decongest the City. They are working out a plan of action to ease City traffic.
“In the past, a lot had been discussed on decreasing traffic snarls. I do not believe in continuing the same. The Government is action-oriented and we will ease the traffic in 15 months.”
Corruption:
“The Government will not harass any investor coming to the State. We will provide all facilities to them and approve investment proposals without any demands or expectations.
“We believe in joining hands with private sector to strengthen the economy.”
Garment Sector:
“I will soon convene a meeting with representatives of garment sector. The Government is willing to provide all facilities extended by the neighbouring States.
“If you have any plans to move out, please don’t take such a hasty decision. We will address your problems.”
Shortage of water:
“The Government is aware of the water scarcity in the City. We need to judiciously utilise the available minimum water sources besides popularise use of recycled water.
“We will overcome scarcity by 2010, when the fourth phase of the Cauvery Water Supply Scheme would be completed.”
