Ateam led by chairperson of the Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) Standing Committee on T axation and Finance, Lalitha Srinivasa Gowda took stock of unauthorised hoardings put up in various places in south Bangalore on Thursday .

The team comprising BCC assistant commissioner Sriramaiah, deputy commissioner (development) Krishnegowda and other officials inspected Koramangala, Madhavan Park, Jayanagar IV Block and surrounding areas.

Speaking to B BV VT T , Lalitha Srinivasa Gowda said, "During the inspection of these prominent commercial areas in the City , we found that 60 per cent of the hoardings put up here were unauthorised. I have directed the officials to inform the ad agencies concerned to remove the hoardings within two days. If they fail to do so, we will pull them down." "W e need to put a proper system in place and streamline the functioning of such departments which bring more revenue to the BCC.

The advertising department has failed to maintain proper information about companies which have put up unauthorised hoardings in the City . If the officials concerned get cracking on and collect the dues, we can definitely see good revenue from the advertisements," she added.

The team will inspect areas in Bangalore east on Friday .
