The online registration of passport applications has been re-introduced. Applicants can now fill up their personal details and register over the website- “www.kar.nic.in/passport”.

According to a press release issued by the Regional Passport Office, Bangalore, submission directly under tatkaal is also possible under this mode.

However, the applicant is required to submit the forms in person at the passport office after allotment of a reference number and appointment which is provided online, the release said.

To facilitate software professionals working in near Electronic City for application of passports, the Department of Posts has opened a Speed Post Collection Centre at the Electronic City post office. The collection centre would be operational soon, the release from the Passport Office added.
