The Traffic Police, in a bid to improve monitoring of auto-drivers, have computerised pre-paid counters to ensure better maintenance of records. Computerisation has been completed in four counters - two at KSRTC bus stand, and one each at City Railway Station and Cantonment Railway Station respectively. The counter on MG Road will also be computerised within a week, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-East) M A Saleem.
Following computerisation, all details, including vehicle number, time of booking, point of embarking and the fare will be permanently on record.
“This information will help us follow up on commuters’ complaints in a more organised way,” he added.
