BCC Engineers taken to task
Vijay Times

DESPITE Chief Minister N Dharam Singh lambasting the Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) for its lackadaisical attitude in completing the ongoing infrastructure projects, the civic body is yet to begin work on asphalting roads and filling potholes.

BCC commissioner K Jothiramalingam on W ednesday took the BCC engineering staff to task for not keeping their promise of beginning road works from Jan 23 in all the 100 wards in the City .

It may be recalled that Jothiramalingam had promised that work would begin from Jan 23 across the City .

The commissioner , who was harsh on the engineers during a routine meeting of the head of the departments, thundered that progress be shown in road works during the next week.

Some of the engineers claimed that they had not got the clearance from the committee screening the tenders to take up works under the East and South zones, sources in the BCC told BVT .

Reacting sharply to this, the commissioner told the engineers that he had cleared the tenders and they could go ahead with the work immediately .
