2,000 persons will get allotment letters in the first phase

Bangalore: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has started the process of the much-awaited allotment of sites in Arkavathy Layout.

Following the judgement given on November 25 by the Karnataka High Court, the process had been taken up in a phased manner, the BDA said.

In the first phase, 2,000 eligible applicants among the 20,000 short-listed, would receive their allotment letters.

Intimation letters began to be despatched by Speed Post from Saturday.

The allotment details would be made available on the BDA website www.bdabangalore.org and e-Pragati kiosks at the BDA Head Office at HBR Complex from January 3. The allotment list would also be posted on the notice board at the PRO's Office on T. Chowdiah Road, Kumara Park West, and at divisional offices at the Vijayanagar Complex, BSK Complex, Koramangala Complex and R.T. Nagar Complex. The public would get information at these centres from Tuesday onwards. The BDA recovered property worth Rs. 3 crores after a demolition drive on Saturday.

A total of six BDA plots, including two corner sites in Banashankari 1st Stage, two corner sites in Banashankari 3rd Stage-Kathriguppe and two sites in Banashankari 2nd Stage-Dhobighat were recovered after demolishing the unauthorised constructions on them, the BDA said. The BDA Task Force conducted the operation with the assistance of the Hanumanthnagar and Banashankari police.
