AFTER the IT czars, it is the turn of industrialists to raise a hue and cry against the poor infrastructure in the City especially at Peenya which is a industrial hub providing jobs to lakhs of people.

An estimated 450,000 small scale and big time industrialists operate from the area.

The association president A Padmanabha criticised both Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) and Dasarahalli City Municipal Council (CMC) for turning a blind eye towards filling potholes and relaying of battered roads even after getting a week’s reprieve from rains.

Dasarahalli CMC commissioner Suprasanna said a consultant had been appointed to prepare a blueprint on upkeeping of roads and drains.

He said despite public announcement that several lakhs of rupees have been released for the purpose of filling potholes, the civic bodies have not bothered to take up the works. He also said, when the civic authorities were questioned for not taking up the works, they defended by saying only Rs 6 lakh had been released to the CMC which is insufficient.
