Eco-Watch in association with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and Transport Department is conducting a campaign on air pollution, Care for Air, from November to December across the State. As part of the campaign, workshops on air quality monitoring, screening of films, talks and interaction by experts, cycle rally and emission checks will be done.
With high-level vehicular pollution in Bangalore and the diminishing green cover, pollution has become a serious health issue. As such the campaign will address these concerns with the help of schools, Non Governmental Organisations, youth clubs and others.
During the period of the campaign, All India Radio will air all the programmes live. On November 14, there will be an awareness campaign on air pollution for autorickshaw drivers at the Rotary Hall, Besides KIMS Hospital at 3 pm. Traffic experts and officials of the Transport department will participate.
