BMP embarks on project to improve roads in IT corridor

BANGALORE: The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) will improve seven major roads connecting the IT and BT corridor. This will be in addition to the ongoing improvement of three roads: Airport Road, Jeevanbimanagar Main Road and 12th Main, Indiranagar. According to a release from the BMP on Tuesday, the improvement of seven roads will be entrusted to the Karnataka Land Army Corporation.

The work on these roads is likely to be completed by the middle of January 2006.

Some of the roads that will be improved are: Mahatma Gandhi Road (Brigade Road junction to Trinity Circle), Dickenson Road, Ulsoor Road (Trinity Church junction to Taj Residency-Dickenson Road junction), 20th Main Road, Koramangala (from National Games village to Forum Mall on Hosur Road), Magarath Road (Brigade Road junction to Richmond Road junction) and 80-Feet Road from Old Madras Road to Airport Road (via Kodihalli).

The work on the Airport Road (from the junction of 100-Feet Road to Suranjandas Road junction), Jeevanbimanagar Main Road and 12th Main, Indiranagar, will be completed by the middle of December 2005, the release said.
