Techie withdraws complaint

Techie withdraws complaint
The Times of India

Bangalore: Nimish V Adani, a techie who had complained that he was beaten up at the City Railway station, withdrew his complaint after he failed to substantiate his charges.

Nimish had complained to the railway authorities that he was assaulted by ticket collectors and RPF personnel on September 30.

South Western Railway Bangalore divisional railway manager (DRM) Mahesh Kumar told reporters on Monday that independent witnesses examined in the presence of Nimish and the accused railway officials have stated that Nimish was in an inebriated state and did not have a platform ticket at the time of the alleged assault.

Kumar said on that day at the exit gate, when a ticket collector asked for the platform ticket, Nimish had pushed the ticket collector and picked a fight with the officer.

“During the inquiry, Nimish could not establish whether he had the platform ticket with him or not. But he stated that he took the ticket from a particular ticket vending machine at the railway station.”

“This showed us that Nimish was lying as that ticket vending machine was out of order at that time. Our inquiry has revealed this,’’ Kumar added.

“Though Nimish initiated the squabble, our staff should not have reciprocated and we have transferred them and a penalty chargesheet has been served on them,’’ Kumar said and justified the suspension of the railway staff, following Nimish’s complaint.

“Since Nimish has withdrawn his complaint stating that he is satisfied with the follow-up action by the railway authorities, we are not contemplating any action against him in good faith for pushing the ticket collector and initiating a squabble,” Kumar said. Railway police had thought of initiating action against Nimish for obstructing government servants on duty, he added.

Nimish had also alleged that a person, Srinivas — colluding with the railway officials — had tried to cheat him. Srinivas was identified on October 8 and was questioned in the presence of Nimish.

After this, Nimish felt that there is no link between Srinivas and railway officials, Mahesh Kumar said.

Since Nimish has alleged that Srinivas took money from him and tried to cheat him, Srinivas was handed over to railway police for further investigation, Kumar said.

This piece of news is utter bullshit and there is no article like this in the times of india.

Either back up your claims with a genuine link to the times article or remove this altogether.
