Report sought on land use change
Deccan Herald

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday directed the State government to give a detailed report on the permissions granted for change of land use in Bangalore city. A division bench comprising Justice P Vishwanatha Shetty and Justice H G Ramesh passed the order on a PIL filed by Mr C N Kumar of Bangalore.

It has directed the authorities not to precipitate the matter till the next date of hearing of the PIL. The petitioner had complained that BDA and the State government have indiscriminately allowed change of land use in various parts of the city in contravention to the provisions of the KTCP Act. The petitioner has claimed that the authorities have allowed the land earmarked for public purposes to be used for other purposes.
