Yes. This may become a reality if the government’s ambitious project gets funds from the Japanese Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC).

Energy Minister H D Revanna told reporters here that Bangalore and Delhi have been selected by the Union government for the project. The State government has sent a proposal to the Centre for availing itself Rs 2,400 crore from JBIC for the project.

Under this project, upgradation of power distribution centres will also be taken up to ensure quality power supply, he said.
