The State Government has sanctioned the Peripheral Ring Road project, which will be implemented by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), Chief Minister N Dharam Singh said on Monday.

Delivering the customary independence day speech after hoisting the national flag at the the Manekshaw Parade Ground, he said BDA will shortly take up the project which is estimated to cost Rs 750 crores. Besides, Rs 390 crores high-tech city project is also sanctioned, Mr Singh added.

The Peripheral Ring Road project was pending before the Government for approval. BDA re-designed the project plan, the alignment of the ring road, so that it does not overlap with another ring road proposed to be constructed under Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project. He further said the work on the international Airport near Devanahalli is on in full swing, while the Metro Rail project had been approved by the Public Investment Board.
