The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday ordered prosecution of Chief Secretary KK Misra and another official while pronouncing its order on the controversial Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project.
A division bench ordered that Misra and Under Secretary M Shivalingaswamy should be prosecuted under section 344 of CrPC for withholding important facts from the Court, and submitting false statements in the affidavit.
The Court directed Registrar (Judicial) to pursue the matter.
The bench, comprising Chief Justice NK Sodhi and Justice B Padmaraj, allowed two public interest litigations (PIL) seeking early completion of the project.
Another PIL filed by MLAs Madhuswamy and Sriram Reddy seeking a CBI enquiry into alleged irregularities in the project, was dismissed with costs of Rs 50,000.
The Court directed Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), which is executing the BMIC project, to complete it expeditiously.

Finally!! Victory for Bangalore in general over Deve Gowda and his goons.
Hip, hip, hurray! Three cheers for justice. I hope this sends Deve Gowda packing. BMIC should prove a catalyst for development of the Bangalore-Mysore belt.
