All In A Night: 1 Murder, 4 Robberies, 1 Bank Heist

Bangalore: Barely a day after the city police rubbished the National Crime Record Bureau’s finding that Bangalore’s crime graph is on the rise, a series of incidents has kept the police busy. Sunday night crime graph: one murder, four robberies and a bank heist.
In a revenge killing, a youth was chased and hacked to death near Yellamma temple in Kempe Gowda Nagar on Sunday night. Dileep Kumar (28) is the deceased. Accompanied by a friend, Amith Pawar, Dileep Kumar was returning home on a scooter after a temple function. Mid-way, a gang of over seven persons, armed with lethal weapons waylaid the scooter and inflicted wounds on Dileep’s chest and head.
Police admit they have no clue to the suspects. Dileep Kumar was involved in a murder reported a year back and this is suspected to be the motive behind the attack on him.
On the Outer Ring Road, a techie returning home on his two-wheeler was stopped and robbed near a dhaba in Hennur police limits. Two youths on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain, cellphone, ring and other valuables worth around Rs 10,000 from IBM staffer Felix Antics.
In another incident, a couple returning home with their son on a scooter after dinner at a star hotel were robbed on
Koramangala-Indiranagar Intermediate Ring Road by two persons on a speeding bike. They lost valuables worth over Rs 7,500.
In the third robbery, a fortified house of a motor vehicle inspector in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar was burgled on Sunday afternoon when the inspector and his family members were at a nearby club. Valuables worth over 2.74 lakh, including cash, were reported missing from the house of Gangadharachar. The miscreants cut an iron gate and wooden door to gain entry. Making the burglers’ job easier, the family had kept the key of an iron safe containing cash and valuables on a drawer next to the safe.
Robbery number 4: A shop selling consumer goods in Rajajinagar I Block was burgled on Sunday night. TV sets, DVDs and other gadgets worth over Rs 3.41 lakh were reported stolen from Adeeshwara Electronics. Subramanyapura police have registered a case. Burglars entered the shop breaking its shutters.
Things are no better in the outskirts. Cash and 4 kg of gold worth over Rs 25 lakh were stolen from Kalpatharu Grammen Bank in Whitefield police limits on Sunday night.
