Indo-Asian News Service
India's silicon valley got a new underpass, constructed in a record five months, to ease traffic flow in the city during next week's Aero India 2005 exhibition.
The underpass at Yelhanka near this city will connect the Indian Air Force (IAF) station, the venue of the show, with Bangalore airport's domestic section, a defence ministry statement said.
"The underpass, constructed within a short span of five months, will facilitate unhindered traffic movements during the Aero India show beginning Feb 9", it said.
The project was commissioned in August last year by the defence ministry and executed in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Over 350 leading companies from 30 countries will showcase their aircraft and aerospace equipment at the Aero India exhibition.
Indian aviation products and aircraft like the advanced light helicopter, light combat aircraft (LCA), intermediate jet trainer and the indigenously assembled Su30MKI will be on display.
