Nrityagram festival cancelled due to tsunami

The annual spring festival - Vasanthahabba - organised by the dance village, Nrityagram, near Hesarghatta will not be held this year in view of the devastation casued by the tsunami.

Nrityagram Managing Trustee Lynne Fernandes, in a release in Bangalore said that “Vasanthahabba, which normally takes place on the first Saturday of February, has always been a celebration of life. In the past few weeks however, nature has lashed out at our illusions of immortality and left us painfully aware of how fragile that life could be.”

In the wake of so much devastation this year's spring dance festival has been cancelled, added Lynne Fernandes.
