Drive to check haphazard parking

Bangalore: The city traffic police have launched a drive in Koramangala to clear vehicles parked haphazardly on roads and pavements.
The main culprit seems to be commercial establishments mushrooming in the residential area.
Vehicles in ‘no parking’ areas were towed away and violators booked by the police. The drive which began on Thursday is being taken up on 100 Feet Road, 80 Feet Road, in front of malls like Forum, Raheja Arcade, Koramangala IV, VII and VIII Blocks. While police state that commercial establishments do not have adequate parking facilities, motorists say they are helpless and have to park on roads and pavements. Police have also been booking motorists violating rules including two-wheeler riders using pavements.
