Bangalore: When roads under it turned one-ways, the narrow Richmond Circle flyover started welcoming vehicles from both sides.

The situation both under and over the flyover is frightening. One can take the K.H. Road (Double Road) and Richmond Road ramp to drive up the flyover and Mission Road and Residency Road ramp to drive down. To handle the two-way traffic, barricades have been erected on the flyover as a temporary measure. Policemen were deployed in large numbers on the flyover to handle the situation, but it appears that traffic signal lights on the flyover are necessary.

To avoid accidents, the ascending ramp on Richmond Road will be closed during the night, DCP (Traffic) M.A. Saleem said.

The police move to clear out parking lots added to the confusion on Mission Road. Vehicles moving from Mission Road to Residency Road cannot take the flyover route any longer. They have to take the narrow road below, which is always crowded with vehicles.
