Restore earlier traffic flow pattern at Mayo Hall

Restore earlier traffic flow pattern at Mayo Hall

BANGALORE: The traffic police have created confusion and traffic jams at Mayo Hall junction by tampering with the existing flow of traffic.

With their zeal to merge traffic from Residency Road with that on M.G.Road at Mayo Hall junction without traffic lights, the police have removed the stone dividers on Residency road and forced traffic straight onto M.G. Road.

This has created a danger at the intersection in front of the Deputy Director General Recruiting office (next to Prestige Meridien) and chaos at Mayo Hall junction. This has also created two additional points that need to be manned.

Earlier, to avoid this kind of pile-up, the police had worked out a simple solution by forcing all vehicles going from Residency Road on to M.G. Road to skirt around Mayo Hall, wait at the traffic signal and then turn right — a simple and accident-free solution.

Now there is every possibility of accidents taking place.

This new arrangement has also led to vehicles taking a right turn at Mayo Hall junction blocking MG Road as there is a continuous flow of vehicles from Residency Road.

The traffic police should restore the earlier flow and keep the traffic lights on as soon as possible.
