BANGALORE: Amid much concern, the city traffic police are on a virtual litmus test from Saturday when they enforce the dreaded Residency Road-Richmond Road one-ways.

This change will create a complex system of one-ways and changes on connecting roads and alter bus routes and stops. Though a government holiday, by virtue of a second Saturday, heavy traffic is expected to catch motorists unawares. ‘‘Traffic signals will not be operational at junctions where the new system is being implemented for an entire week.

Traffic constables are being deputed all along the routes armed with public address systems. Minor changes will be made as and when required,’’ DCP Traffic East M.A. Saleem said.
