HC pulls up BCC, seeks road reports with photos

Bangalore: A Division Bench of the high court comprising Chief Justice N.K. Sodhi and Justice S.R. Nayak, on Wednesday expressed serious concern over bad roads and civic infrastructure in the city and directed the Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) to file an action taken report supported by photographic evidence to the court.

The Bench made these observations while hearing a PIL filed by advocate and former legislator K.N. Subba Reddy. The court took objections to the arguments of BCC counsel, who stated that the roads were in bad condition due to heavy rainfall in the city.

The court did not agree with BCC’s argument that majority of roads in the city were in good condition. The Bench directed the BCC counsel to restrict himself to the measures taken by the BCC to rectify the bad roads.
