BCC starts work on city roads

BANGALORE: Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) has outsourced maintenance of 1,230 km of city roads for the next three years. The work divided into 12 packages will cost Rs. 18 crore over the period.

The agencies identified by Bangalore City Corporation will make the road shoulders, seal cracks, fill potholes, clear and construct roadside drains, prune overhanging trees, replace footpath slabs, repaint sign boards, guard stones along with repainting of name boards.

Further, BCC has taken up asphalting of 476 km of roads that were not asphalted so far at an estimated cost of Rs 130 crore.

Some of the roads that will be asphalted under this scheme are Lottegollahalli Main Road, Ragigudda Temple 17th Main Road in JP Nagar, III Main Road in Dollars Colony, Robertson Road in Cleveland Town and Contour Road near Sankey Tank.

The PWD has started work on Bannerghatta, Sarjapur and Airports Roads.
