Bangalore: The condition of the City roads, which are dotted by hundreds of potholes, was highlighted in the form of a petition before the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday.

A Division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice S R Nayak and Justice H N Nagmohan Das have directed the Bangalore City Corporation to file their counter statement in this regard.

The petitioner K N Subba Reddy stated that the roads in the City were marked with potholes, making it difficult for motorists to ply on the same. He submitted that there were various projects that were undertaken to rectify this problem but nothing had materialised so far.

The petitioner, while suspecting misappropriation of funds, contended that the truth would be known only if an inquiry was conducted into same. He also sought directions from the court to order an inquiry into the amount that had been spent on the roads.
