International airport may be named after Kempegowda
Deccan Herald

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) is contemplating to name the proposed Bangalore International Airport at Devanahalli after Kempegowda, Mayor P R Ramesh said on Sunday.

The airport project is a prestigious one and it should be named after Kempegowda as he is the founder of Bangalore, Mr Ramesh said at a function organised by Sri Hombegowda Seva Samithi to celebrate Poet Kuvempu’s birth centenary.

Mr Ramesh said that the BMP had planned to set up Kempegowda Art Museum at Mayohall. He also said that the BMP was planning to name the proposed 576-metre high sky-tower in the City after Kuvempu.
