Severely hit by the seven-week moratorium and the recent incidents of violence, owner of the first hi-tech multiplex theatre — the Innovative Multiplex — has decided to shut the shop permanently, reports DHNS from Bangalore.

“No films will be screened from tomorrow (Sunday). The theatre will cease to exist from Sunday,” Mr Prasad, the owner of the multiplex, told Deccan Herald.
Mr Prasad said due to the moratorium, he has incurred huge losses and that he can no longer run the show.

“With so much investments and expenditure, one cannot be waiting for 50 days to screen a new movie,” he pointed out. Besides, he alleged, vested interests in the industry have been “extorting” money from him for the release of every new film and that he is fed up with the corrupt system. Mr Prasad, however, refused to name the extortioners.
