Announce and forget

BCC not tired, dishes out projects one after another!
Times of India

The BCC’s roadshow continues unhindered: Even as it struggles to remember the road projects it announced last quarter, it has now come up with a bouquet of new projects. The aim: To decongest high-density traffic areas, ostensibly.

This comes amidst a war cry from citizens to fill potholes — the basic civic premise for safe living. Yes, the citizens are not demanding Singapore-like highways or roads without so much as a scratch. But a road with filled-up potholes.

So, the BCC was at it again on Friday. Its commissioner K. Jothiramalingam told reporters that the Railways have identified several areas where either a road under bridge or road over bridge would come up.

The areas are: Byappanahalli Junction, Mathikere Junction, Bapujinagar, RPC Layout, Gangondanahalli and a subway at the Yashwantpur railway station. A joint team of the BCC and railway officials will visit these areas for a study and then the proposal will be placed before the BCC Council for approval.

This is for the record. Citizens by now know the fate of the projects much before their blueprints are ready. Well, BCC, go ahead.
