BANGALORE: Following last year’s merger of seven city municipal councils (CMCs) and a town municipal council (TMC) in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the civic body has extended the new hoarding rules to the newly added areas.

Half-a century- old advertisement rules of the Palike were revised last year and the new rules have declared VIP areas as hoarding free.

However most places in the new zones have been permitted to have hoardings of any size upto any height. Palike adopted a resolution to this effect last month.

In Dasarahalli zone, the roads where hoardings would be regulated include streches between Jalahalli Cross-Kanteerava Studio, Laggere main road, Sanjay Gandhi Bus Stop-Laxmidevi Nagar Bus Stop, Tumkur Road 8th mile- Nagasandra, Tumkur Road-Channanayakana Palya, Bagalakunte old village, MEI Layout, Mallasandra main road, Pipeline main road, KG Nagar main road, Chokkasandra road, Shettihalli road, Geleyara Balaga Road and Dasarahalli main road.

In Byatarayanapura zone, hoardings would be regulated on all roads except the outer ring road and Doddaballapura road.

Bommanahalli zone also will have no restrictions on hoardings except on 80-feet Puttenhalli Road. In Mahadevpura zone, hoardings would be regulated only on outer ring road, Hope Farm-Sai Ashram, Varthur Road-Devarabisa-nahalli and Marath Halli bridge to Bellandur village.

In Rajarajeswari Nagar zone only 80-feet road from Kengeri railway station to Mariyappanpalya would be regulated.
