High Speed Rail Link construction from 2011
Bangalore, July 6, DHNS:
Airline passengers to the Bengaluru International Airport will have to wait until end of next year to commute on the High Speed Rail Link (HSRL) to Devanahalli.
The Bangalore Airport Rail Link Limited (BARL), a special purpose vehicle or SPV of the government, would begin the Rs 6,000-crore project only in January 2011.
BARL has currently completed process of evaluating the technical bid document or request for proposal (RFQ) for implementing the project on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis. A RFP or Request for Proposal is expected to be invited from the selected consortia soon. Finally, the selected concessionaire is expected to be appointed in about two months from now.
The five-member consortia have already been shortlisted to execute the project and include, Reliance Infrastructure Limited and CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co Ltd, L & T Transco Limited, ITD-ITD Cem Joint Venture (Italian – Thai Development Public Co Ltd & ITD Cementation India Limited, Pioneer Infratech Pvt Ltd & Siemens Project Ventures Gmbh and Lanco Infratech Ltd & OHL Concesiones SL.
