The high court on Friday adjourned the hearing of a petition challenging the proposed underground metro station at Vidhana Soudha.
Also, the court directed the Karnataka State Cricket Association's (KSCA) counsel to submit before July 6 the action plan on how the covering has to be provided after the construction of the metro tunnel at Chinnaswamy stadium.
In another case related to Metro work at Lalbagh, the BMRCL submitted to the court the sketch of the property showing how the staircase for the metro station would come up there.
A division bench headed by justice Manjula Chellur adjourned the hearing related to metro work at Vidhana Soudha to next week after the petitioner's counsel MG Kumar sought more time to file objections to the government's sanction for the work.
The high court had on April 23 asked the government to show the approval of the cabinet for the proposed metro station at Vidhana Soudha. The horticulture department had stated that the BMRCL required 11160.86 sq m area temporarily and 2,126.71 sq m area permanently for housing Vidhana Soudha underground station and ancillary buildings. The department had sought permission for felling 116 trees, 22 for traffic diversion through alternative roads, 65 for station and 29 for ancillary buildings.
Justice Ram Mohan Reddy directed the KSCA counsel to submit the plan of action after his submission that they would give a report to BMRCL on how the covering should be done. However, the judge said this action plan could be considered, accepted, improvised or extended by the BMRCL.
In another petition regarding the proposed metro construction at Lalbagh, the BMRCL submitted to the court the sketch showing how the staircase for the metro station would come up on an acquired property. Justice Ram Mohan Reddy vacated the stay of the metro construction work after the details on the property were provided to the court
