Traffic is likely to be hit on Monday with over 10,000 autorickshaws taking out a protest rally through the city’s Central Business District.
But with the traffic police saying that the auto unions have not informed them about the rally, people are likely to face severe hardship. Office goers and school children will suffer the most due to the traffic congestion.

The auto union called for the rally to protest against the introduction of a single piece windshield instead of the three-piece windshields that the autos have now.

The rally will wind thro

ugh the nerve centres of the city including MG Road, Brigade Road, Residency Road, Shivajinagar, Richmond Town and Double Road.
“We have called the rally to protest against the transport department’s move to introduce the new windshields which are expensive and unaffordable. The rally will start at 9 am from Shivajinagar and end at Town Hall. Over 10, 000 autos are expected to participate. Most autos will be

off the road till afternoon, said Ayub Khan, vice president of Jaya Karna taka Sanghatane.
When contacted, B.A Muttanna, DCP (east traf fic) said: "We have no been intimated about any rally. A notification has to come from the law and order department." Comm uters are likely to find i even harder to hail an auto as another protest will also be staged at Mahatm Gandhi Statue by othe auto unions. "Over 500 people will participate in the protest which will star at 10 am. We will not cal it off till the officials mee us," said Somashekar, pre sident, Bangalore Auto Drivers' Souharda Cooper ative Limited.
