Put Bidadi on fast track, decongest Bangalore

Experts say township will clear traffic mess and decongest the city's areas, including the central business district

A 'work-live-play' environment spread across a vast space of over 9,000 acres. Two major radial roads along with an access controlled ring road extending from the city (Mysore Road, Kanakapura Road and the NICE Road) and connecting it to the heart of Bangalore.
The biggest plus: A residential-cum-work environment, which means less travelling and less traffic. The Bidadi township is the perfect remedy for city's growing problems. And according to experts, if the plan is put on fast-track it will help decongest the city's areas, including the central business district.
Speeding up the work on the Bidadi Township project will only change the dimensions of living for Bangaloreans, says civic analyst R Dinakar. "The land selected for the project is situated at a good height and it forms a great atmosphere for living. If the connectivity is improved, the occupancy rate will automatically go up and this will encourage development of other proposed townships around the city like Ramanagar, Sathanur, Solur and Nandagudi," he says.
Experts also say that the township will be a great advantage to the professionals working in the IT and ITES companies as the Bidadi Township would be close to Electronics City.
"As the IT hub and the proposed township will be connected with the access controlled NICE road, the movement will be faster and smoother," says Niraj KN, a town planner. He says that the upcoming satellite town ring road and intermediate town ring road will further improve the road connectivity with Bangalore and also with surrounding areas.
The township is also close to the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) industrial estates at Harohalli, which is a boon to manpower in these industrial hubs too as employees – a majority of who have to travel to and from Bangalore—will no longer have to spend precious time commuting. Deputy metropolitan commissioner of Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) M Doddappa says that the availability of adequate water resources in the proposed township area is an added advantage. "There are many water bodies like lakes and ponds in the villages of Byramangala, Kanchugaranahalli, Bannigiri, Hosur, KG Gollarapalya, Aralalasandra and Kempaiahnapalya Kaval. These would help in developing the infrastructure as well as in developing landscapes," he says.
