Civic officials say Ganesh's wife, the producer of Maleyali Jotheyali, defaced public property with film posters

'Golden' star Ganesh's Maleyali Jotheyali may be the most-talked about film right now, but it has also brought trouble for him and his wife Shilpa, with officials of the BBMP slapping a case against her for putting up
the film's posters on public walls illegally.

Shilpa is the producer of the film, the first from Ganesh's home banner Golden Movies.

"A complaint has been lodged against producer and distributors of Maleyali Jotheyali," said S Shridhar, inspector, Subramanyanagar police station.

Shilpa has been charged under the Karnataka Open Space (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act 1981.

Maleyali Jotheyali, starring Ganesh in the lead role, was released last week.

Law same for all

"Certain places in Subramanyanagar limits were filled with the movie posters, which is not permitted," said Dr S Khandre, PRO, BBMP. "Hence our officials have filed a complaint against Shilpa Ganesh, as they would do in the case of any other producer."

Officials who filed the complaint also made Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) a party to it.

However Rockline Venkatesh, Vice President, KFCC, said the matter had not come to their notice yet. "BBMP officials, who have assured us to provide certain places to display posters have to do so first and then act.

However, we will certainly intervene in such matters and see that purpose of both BBMP and producers are served."

'What case?'

However Shilpa Ganesh claimed she had no idea about the case.

"I have no clue about this," she said. "I'm yet to get information on that. As of now I don't know anything."
