70 per cent of Metro work in Reach 1 over

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has said the metro train between Byappanahalli and Chinnaswamy cricket stadium will be on track by December 2010.

As much as 70 per cent of the total work between the two points (Reach 1) has been completed.

In his written reply to a question by M R Doreswamy, Yeddyurappa said the government had completed 95 per cent of land acquisition process for the work. The rest would be completed by March 2010. So far 1,081 properties (both private and government) had been acquired.

The CM said progress of Phase I of the metro rail work as on November 30 stood at 19.16 per cent. The State government had released Rs 1,600 crore towards the work. The Centre’s share of Rs 439 crore had also been released.

Yeddyurappa gave the details of the works in progress. Following is the list of stations along with the status - Ulsur and Old Madras Road - 35 pc; CMH Road & Byappanahalli - 35 pc; MG Road & Trinity station - 41 pc; Hosahalli/Toll Gate/Vijayanagar - 38 pc; Mysore Road/Deepanjali Nagar/ Magadi Road - 45 pc; Yeshwanthpur/Soap factory/Mahalakshmi Layout - 15 pc; Rajajinagar/ Kuvempu/ Malleswaram - 39 pc; Jayanagar/RV Road - 15.5 pc; KR Road, Lalbagh/South End Circle - 20 pc.
