DK Shivakumar, the man who is responsible for the state panel, now slams the vindictive tenor of the controversial report

There is a twist in the tale of Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) failing to provide world-class airport for the IT capital. A day after the legislature panel presented its report indicting the BIAL, DK Shivakumar, the KPCC working president, and the man who was responsible for the constitution of the panel, has struck a discordant note.
DK Shivakumar said on Tuesday that the panel chairman Hemachandra Sagar submitted the report to both the houses of legislature without his approval.
"I have sought the permission of speaker Jagadish Shettar to incorporate my views about BIA in the form of an annexture to the report. I am planning to raise the issue in the legislative assembly in the form of an adjournment motion and take back the report. The report with the annexture could be released later," Shivakumar said while explaining his next move.
Shivakumar also took exception to the panel's adverse remarks against Infosys mentor NR Narayana Murthy. "We should remove the vindictive tone of the report as the entire blame cannot be put on the officers. We should focus on corrective, not on vindictive, action. I will also ensure that the commitments made by the BIAL to incorporate the suggestions of the panel are also included in the report. The report, then, will be more balanced," Shivakumar said.
